New Executive Board Members

President - Dennis McKeever

President Emeritus - Todd Engmann (1 year term)

Director - Marketing & Purchasing, OPEN (Nick Curiale Proposed)

    2. Nick spoke: hoping to increase sponsorships, try to find a way to improve fields
    3. Nick unanimously voted into position for a two year term

Director of Baseball Operations - Chris Zotti

New Board Members

Secretary - Jen Easton

Call for volunteers - Director of Fundraising, Online Store, Safety Director

    Discussion of fundraising took place regarding the need to start fundraising earlier and need to have a goal so people know where the money is going. Raised $30,000 last year just with 50/50 and fundraiser event. Fundraising is more important this year with possible field renovations and/or baseball complex.

Rec league works because travel players must play rec as well

Put more resources in the hands of the coaches moving forward, need more time working with coaches, “coach the coaches”, kids at younger levels (K, 1st, 2nd) should not be standing around, run clinics? do stations?


Director of Softball - Dave Nardino

Working on getting gym time on Saturdays from 12 - 4:30pm for winter baseball and softball clinics

Basketball is using all of the gyms

Find out what HS is charging for gym time/custodian fee

Starting winter clinic registration in 1.5 weeks

Revising the 3rd and 4th grade rules

Recap 2016 

$32.5K surplus, in prior years had negative cash balance

Fiscal audit complete

Taxes will be filed early

Improved revenue collection

Great job by coaches and board members adhering to budget

Made $36K on sponsorships

$7500 donated upon registration

50/50 made $3,000 less than last year

Spent less on uniforms with parents having option to buy the uniforms for travel

Gave out $9500 in scholarships 

Softball fees were raised last year, consider raising them again at some point as baseball fields are significantly higher than softball


2017 Budget  

Things are mainly in line with last year, raised Rec fees last year and holding them flat this year 

Increased budget for field maintenance by $6,000 this year, we can’t improve on middle school fields (it falls under Board of Ed)

Make a list of what field improvements need to be done

Registration - Wendy

Tournament teams - send out rejection emails first and then coaches will blast emails to their respective teams, players must accept registration and pay when they receive notice by 12/1. If they don’t they risk forfeiting the position. Fees went up for tournament teams: 9U $450 (uniform with hats included in cost), 10U $400 (no uniform but can buy for $50), 11U $325 and 12U $1450 (Cooperstown fees)


Rec baseball fees - fees will stay the same, registration will start in December, late fees will be charged this year, put lawn signs out for registration, registration link to be sent to all schools in blasts, add question about 7th/8th grade boys and girls umpiring to registration questions


Field and Project Updates - Jack Hellings

Winterizing mostly done - batting cage nets coming down, bases taken up

Jefferson shed needs painting and cleaning up, estimate for fixing Jefferson fence $40K, will get 2 more estimates

Baseball Complex Update (John Flack) - met with mayor and planning board, possible locations are Glenside and Transfer station, time frame is 2-3 years to build and will cost minimum of $1.5 million to build, plan is for 4 fields with concession stand and lights, 1 facility for entire community, Al Leiter is on board and willing to help with fundraising, going through environmental study at the transfer station and may need funds for testing (town may pay for it, will know soon), John to give update at 12/14 meeting
